Quick Tip-DIY Lip Stain!

Lip stains work really well to give you natural long wearing color.  They work great under lipstick because they stay in place long after the lipstick is gone. There are some really good ones out there like the one by Tarte Cosmetics, but instead of spending twenty dollars or more on a lip stain, why not make your own?

All you need is a box of jello (strawberry or cherry flavored work fine), a q-tip (or lip brush), cotton balls (or make-up wedge) , water and a small container.  If you don't have a lip brush you can use a q-tip because the jello will stain your fingers.
Pour about a teaspoon of the jello in a small container, wet the q-tip or lip brush (or your finger if you don't care about it being stained) and apply it to your lips like you would apply your lip gloss. After you've applied the jello, if you are satisfied with the color, rub your lips together.  Next take a q-tip, cotton ball or make-up wedge and brush off the excess jello and voila!
If you are not satisfied with the intensity of the color, you can layer the color by repeating the staining process  until you get the color you want.  This can be a little messy so if possible, try to do it over a sink.
You can apply your lipstick over this stain or a little gloss or lip balm.  You can also wear the stain alone but make sure that you stay within your lip line when you apply the stain.
I wonder if this will work on the cheeks, I am going to try it and let you know....
