Quick Fashion Flash!

I thought it would be most appropiate to give at least a mini review of the happenings on the runways of New York Fashion Week for Spring 2010.  As you might already know I am not a huge fan of spring or summer fashion but I am a fan of art and self expression so I was excited to see what each designer would come up with.
Side Bar:  There are some trends that I really like so every year I cross my fingers in hopes that they will be revisited on the runway--i.e. leggings and ballet flats.  I am confident that the wrap dress is here to stay and I will be rockin' it in my nineties with my Christian Louboutins :D
What I like about where fashion is going right now is that it is becoming more and more wearable and that's what makes todays' runway shows so inspiring.  Many of the designs on the runway for Spring 2010 were easily translated for ready-to-wear therefore, I didn't view most collections as inaccessible works of art like I have in the past.  Instead, I actually visualized myself in some of the apparel and all of the necessary accoutrements.
At the risk of sounding cliché, there was something for everyone at Fashion Week.  It's always interesting to find out the inspiration behind each designers' showcase.  For Spring 2010 get ready for looks inspired by nature, the 20's, the 30's, the 50's, rock, the circus and even the recession.  There will be lots of whimsy, fluid silhouettes, and pops of color in accessories, muted colors, neon colors and metallic embellishments.

However, with fall right around the corner I can't help but get anxious to pull out all of my classic fall/winter articles of clothing and accessories.  I reviewed my fall/winter trend notes and to my liking, I stumbled upon a trend that I'd forgottten about--it's a recycled trend but, hot nonetheless.  I present to you:  The Biker Brigade Trend:

Pictured above is a biker jacket by Phi and my favorite so far.  I wasn't able to find the price of it but I am sure it is over $1,000.
