The Style Black Collection is another collection by M.A.C that I have really been looking forward to because I love to style it black with my wardrobe and accessories. In fact until about 2 years ago, I have been styling it black almost everyday. My mother and aunts used to try and encourage me to wear more vibrant colors but I made black my signature color instead. It got so bad that my mom asked me if I was in mourning and my answer was no, I explained to her that I just wanted to make sure people could see my makeup.
So, honestly I didn't know what to expect with this collection. Though I like black, I've never thought about wearing black lipstick and except for Elvira, I hadn't paid too much attention to this lip trend and was never interested before but, the artist in me was intrigued.
I have to say after seeing the collection, I was pleasantly surprised. I knew that if I didn't like anything else, I would like the mattene lipstick in Night Violet. Night Violet was already on my list of must-haves and I considered the grease paintstick, which is long-wearing, transfer resistant and waterproof. I think this paintstick will be perfect for smokey eye looks. I figured I'd be attracted to the mineralize eyeshadows and they are all gorgeous like I expected but, I really don't have a negative thing to say about any of the items in the collection so far.
I can't imagine wearing black lipstick alone but, I can imagine it would work well to deepen lighter colored lipsticks. I really like the glimmerglasses, they aren't overwhelmingly black, they have just a hint of noir. I am looking forward to trying a look with some of the products from this collection soon...
What do you think about this collection? Would you really rock black lipstick?
