Fall Trend: Thick Brows

One of my favorite trends for fall is the thick, more prominent brow.  Let me first caution you because I was gifted with naturally, very thick, borderline bushy brows, I may be a little biased.   When I was a little girl, I remember how happy I was when my mom told me that I should be proud of my brows and that Brooke Shield's thick brows made her famous. I became so comfortable with them that  I refused to let anyone touch them for years.  They remained untouched until my mom's youngest sister practically held me down and put a razor to them right before I went to the senior prom--Thanks Auntie!  I haven't stopped touching them since.
I have the same philosophy about makeup that I do clothes.  Like I mentioned in Friday's post, I believe in wearing what complements you the most.  The thick eyebrow look is definitely not for those with small eyes, it will only make your eyes look smaller.  Thick eyebrows are not for the faint at heart either.  Big brows are for the brave!
There are a plethora of eyebrow pencils available on the market but one of my favorite is by M.A.C:
Eye Brows (M.A.C's description):
Self-propelling, self-sharpening, brow defining. Confidently adds what you need: shape, colour, density in one streamlined tool. Like a pen, creates its own just-right point. Provides definition, shape, deepens/fills in colour. Creates striking arches. Easy to tote around. No sharpener needed.
0.09 g/0.003 oz US $15.00
I really like this pencil because it is really quick and easy to use whether you are a beginner or not.
Another one of my favorites is by Maybelline and it is one of the best kept secrets of celebrity makeup artists:

#1 in the U.S. Brow filler and precision eye liner in one pack. (Maybelline's Description).  This product retails at about $3.50. These come two in a pack for $3.49 at Ulta and they are currently buy 1 get 1 50% off.
I really like these pencils because they are long wear, waterproof, and the consistency can't be beat.
As always, when picking an eyebrow pencil, try to find a shade as close to your natural brow color or up to 2 shades lighter for a slightly softer look.
